About Us

The Treasure Coast Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) represents over 50 non-profit organizations within Martin, St. Lucie, and Okeechobee Counties in Florida.  Members work with every conceivable type of non-profit group: social services, health, education, animals, the arts, to name a few, and are involved in every aspect and level of fundraising.

Since 1995, AFP Treasure Coast Chapter has worked to strengthen philanthropy on the Treasure Coast by providing education, training, and resources for professional development and ethical fundraising practices.

For over a decade, the Chapter was  awarded the distinction of a Ten Star Chapter by AFP Global, for meeting specific criteria to gain that elevated status.  In 2023 AFP Treasure Coast was honored by AFP Global with the Ten Star Gold Award as a chapter achieving goals that align with key objectives in its long-range strategic plan. Chapters receive the Ten Star Gold Award for performing specific activities designed to increase professionalism within fundraising and public awareness of the importance of philanthropy.

Also in 2023, AFP Treasure Coast was named one of 98 chapters globally to be awarded the 2023 IDEA Champion Designation through AFP Global. The IDEA Champion Designation recognizes those chapters who have accomplished many of the key objectives in our goal of advancing Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access (IDEA) in the fundraising profession.

Our vision is to always be the ‘go to’ organization for non-profit organizations and donors in the area we serve.

Our mission is to strengthen philanthropy on the Treasure Coast by providing education, training and resources for professional development and ethical fund raising practices.

We are a community of people that are proud to abide by the AFP Code of Ethical Standards . It is through this strong dedication to ethical fundraising that the profession can ensure public trust and confidence in the organizations that donors support.

The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) represents more than 27,000 members in over 240 chapters throughout the world, working to advance philanthropy through advocacy, research, education and certification programs.

Founded in 1960, the Association fosters development and growth of fundraising professionals and promotes high ethical standards in the fundraising profession.
