National Philanthropy Day® (NPD) is a special day set aside to recognize the great contributions of philanthropy – and those people active in the philanthropic community – to
the enrichment of our world. November 15 has been designated the national permanent date for NPD, however, the
Treasure Coast Chapter holds their local event on the closest Friday to this date.

NPD
provides an opportunity to reflect
on the meaning of giving and
all that it has made possible.
First held in 1986, the
event celebrates the endless
daily contributions individuals,
corporations and organizations
across the world make to countless
causes and missions. In
2009, more than 150 AFP
chapters held NPD
events and activities. 2009
also marked the 15th year our
local chapter held an NPD
event to honor those who have
contributed to the betterment
of the Treasure Coast through
their contributions for the
non-profits organizations in
the area.
Through
NPD,
participants are able to show
appreciation for all that has
been accomplished in the name
of giving, as well as show that
there is still more to do. It’s
a chance for AFP to step into
the spotlight for a brief moment
and remind our local communities,
our society and the world, that
the spirit of giving is alive
and well.
NPD
is registered with the Patent
and Trademark Office of the
U. S. Department of Commerce
and is coordinated by the local
chapters of the Association
of Fundraising Professionals.
